Mono County searchers have located a body while looking for a missing Minden glider pilot. According to the Mono County Sheriff's Department, the unidentified man was the victim of a glider crash. He was found in the White Mountains near Boundary Peak. That is not far from the last location that glider pilot Geoffrey Loyns was heard from.

There are three meetings in Douglas County this week. On Tuesday, planning commissioners will get an early start so they can get through their annual master plan amendment session. Up for the morning session are Settelmeyer Ranches seeking a time extension on their first and second phases and Douglas High School's 12-foot fence variance, among other things. The afternoon session has the master plan amendments, which will mostly consist of adopting plans, including the transportation plan. Ironically, a key component of a transportation plan in Douglas County, the Highway 395 corridor study, will be presented to the public 4-7 p.m. Thursday in Gardnerville. County commissioners will meet 1:30 p.m. Thursday at Lake Tahoe.

The man who tried to register as a Douglas High School student last fall is on the District Court calendar for sentencing this morning. Bradley Coushman, 23, faces sentencing on a count of attempted possession of a document to establish false identity. The crime can be treated as either a gross misdemeanor or a felony at Judge Michael Gibbons discretion. This is the third or fourth time this has been on the calendar for sentencing this summer.

Today will be partly cloudy with the high predicted to climb to 93 degrees. The big old smoke cloud that has cast a pall over the Valley continues to persist, despite the fact that there just aren't that many fires burning in California now. The wind will pick up at about 11 a.m.
