The public is invited to the second annual "Deal or No Deal" fundraiser presented by the Austin Kirby Foundation at 6 p.m. Aug. 25 at the Horizon Casino Resort, Stateline.
The evening starts with cocktails at 6 p.m. followed by a four-course plated dinner at 7 p.m. Live entertainment will be provided by Blue Prophets. There will be a silent auction along with a special version of the TV game show "Deal or No Deal." The grand prize is a red 2007 Toyota Camry Solara convertible donated by the Northern Nevada Toyota Dealers.
Donations received at the "Deal or No Deal" fundraiser will be used to provide operating funds for Austin's House, also known as the Carson Valley Children's Center. The new 5,382-square-foot residence in north Douglas County provides a safe home environment for up to 10 children. Austin's House was built totally from donations from our community.
The grand opening was Aug. 2 and the first residents will arrive Aug. 14. Information at www.austinshouse.org.
The ticket donation for this gala fundraiser is $75. Tables of 10 are available at the rate of $700. While there are still a limited number of tickets available, last year's "Deal or No Deal" event was sold out and tickets are going fast. Dress is resort casual.
