Ruth Marie Hames, 78, a Yerington resident for the past seven years, died Sept. 26, 2005, in a Reno hospital.
She was born Dec. 20, 1926, in San Jose, Calif., to Edger R. and Eoline E. Readman Newton.
Before moving to Yerington, she lived in Carson City.
She married Robert Hames on Sept. 14, 1947 in Tijuana, Mexico. He preceded her in death May 5, 1984.
Among her survivors are her sons Jay of Patterson, Calif., and Matt of Yerington; daughter Pamela Hames of Yerington; brother Bud Newton of Bullhead City, Ariz.; sister Louise Hames of Smith Valley; five grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
No service is scheduled.
Walton Funeral Home, Reno, is in charge of arrangements.
