A memorial service for Jennifer Ann Straits, 28, a Reno resident, will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at Walton's Sierra Chapel, 875 W. Second St., Reno.
Immediately following the service, a celebration of her life will be at the Hacienda Restaurant, 10580 N. McCarran Blvd., Reno.
Ms. Straits died Sept. 20, 2005, at her home of an undetermined illness.
She graduated from Wooster High School in 1995, attended Lassen Community College in Susanville, Calif., and Stanislaus State University in Merced, Calif., where she played basketball. She graduated from the University of Nevada Reno in 2000 with a degree in criminology.
At the time of her death, she was employed by GES Exposition Services as the Exhibitor Services Coordinator. She enjoyed spending time with her family and hiking with her dog Georgie.
She was preceded in death by grandfather Dean Young and uncle Pat Young.
Among her survivors are her parents, Cathy Straits of Reno and Jerry Straits of Carson City; brothers Kenny Straits of Reno and Scot Straits of Redding, Calif.; sisters Katy Straits of Reno and Mandy Orison and husband Joey of Reno; grandmother JoAnn Young of Reno; aunts and uncles Laura and Rick Corl of Reno, Dennis and Wanda Young and Kenny and Ruth Young, all of Klamath Falls, Ore., Don and Jean Denney of Paso Robles, Calif.; several cousins and special friends Janay, Jamie, Ryan and Rob.
