Dayton spikers beat Fernley

Dayton swept 25-133, 25-14, 25-9 to improve to 3-2 in the Northern 3A. Michelle Bowman had 18 assists, two blocks, two kills, three aces, two digs, Rachel Studebaker had eight digs and four assists, Diana Rutt had five kills and four digs, Gina Henderson had four kills and one block, Kasey Armstrong had four kills and two blocks, Sara Simmons had three kills and four digs, Melony Cox had four kills and four digs and Kristin Wetzel had four digs and three aces.

Dayton won the junior varsity match 25-19, 25-21, but lost the freshmen match 17-25, 25-23, 9-15. Dayton will next host Yerington on Saturday with the freshmen playing at 11 a.m., the junior varsity at noon and the varsity at 1 p.m.
