Donald Peter Mattes, 70, died Sept. 14, 2005, at Washoe Medical Center in Reno. He was born Sept. 27, 1934, in Brooklyn, N.Y., to Peter and Margaret Straub Mattes.
Mr. Mattes was a postal carrier in Carson City from 1981-92. He retired in Las Vegas and moved to Reno in February. He enjoyed golfing and was an avid antique collector.
Among his survivors are his wife, Linda, of Reno; sons James of Pahrump, Michael and Mark and daughter Donna Yoast, all of Las Vegas; sister Margie Bailey of Kingman, Ariz.; seven grandchildren and one great-granddaughter.
No service is scheduled.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Salvation Army.
Walton Funeral Home, Reno, is in charge of arrangements.
