Douglas boys soccer ties North Tahoe

Despite a slow start, the Douglas High boys soccer team came away with an encouraging 0-0 tie against Northern 3A power North Tahoe on Friday.

"It was a very slow methodical first half," Douglas coach Milko Vasquez. But Vasquez said his team had a couple of chances to score in the second half, including one that was actually a goal, but not counted.

Geoff Rahe sent a shot that actually bounced off the back post, but it happened so quickly that Vasquez admitted he didn't question the call at the time. He said he only realized it was a goal after looking at the video.

Goalie Chris Aguilar had an outstanding game for Douglas, making numerous outstanding saves.
