Charles Phillip Mitchell, 65, a Carson City resident for the past 26 years, died Oct. 13, 2005, in Carson City. He was born June 12, 1940, in Clarkson, Ga., to Charles Albert and Nellie Joe Bishop Mitchell.
He married Reiko Hayashi on Feb. 3, 1965, in Fukuoka, Japan. She preceded him in death Feb. 25, 1994.
Before moving to Carson City, he lived in Fallon.
Mr. Mitchell worked for buildings and grounds at Western Nevada Community College.
He served in the U.S. Navy as aviation ordinance first class.
Among his survivors are daughters Emiko Van Geel and Sumiko Mitchell, both of Carson City; grandchildren Matthew and Joshua Van Geel of Carson City; and brothers Samuel Richard of Screven, Ga., and Edward Albert of Clarkson.
A memorial service will be at a later date.
Cremation will be at FitzHenry's Crematory.
