Douglas boys soccer beats North Valleys

DOUGLAS 6, NORTH VALLEYS 1


David Sturgess scored three goals for the Douglas boys soccer team which stayed on the heels of Carson at 7-2-1 in the Sierra League.


Sturgess scored in the first minute on an assist from Eddie Vega for Douglas (13-3-2). Sturgess scored a second goal on an another assist from Eddie Vega and also scored on an assist from Michael Gransbery.


Michael Barnes scored twice and Oscar Gonzalez scored four Douglas, which outshot the Panthers 20-7. Goalies Chris Aguilar and Steve Done combined to make six saves. Justin Norvell and Justin Grimm played well defensively and Martin Rubio played well at midfield.
