VIRGINIA CITY - A Storey County officer arrested an Arkansas drug fugitive after he found the man camping in a school bus near the Lockwood landfill, an official said Wednesday.
Undersheriff Bruce Larson said Sgt. Ken Quirk made contact with a man who identified himself as Frank Wright, 62, about 3:52 p.m. Sunday.
Larson said the man did not have any identification and appeared to be under the influence of a stimulant.
During a consented search of his bus, Quirk allegedly found methamphetamine, paraphernalia and two stolen credit cards.
The suspect was booked into the Storey County Jail on suspicion of felony charges of possession of controlled substance, unlawful use of a controlled substance, possession of stolen property, and possession of drug paraphernalia.
On Tuesday, an electronic fingerprint submission to the Nevada Criminal History Repository and FBI, found "Wright's" true identity was Frank L. Ruth, 60, a fugitive from Conway, Ark., for possession of methamphetamine.
He was additionally charged with giving false information to a peace officer and failure to register as a convicted felon.
He is being held without bail. Arkansas authorities have placed a hold on Ruth for his outstanding warrant there.
