Kenneth Bernard Sorensen

A memorial service for Kenneth Bernard Sorensen, 66, a Carson City resident for the past six years, will be at 1 p.m. Saturday at FitzHenry's Funeral Home.

Mr. Sorensen died May 12, 2005, in Carson City. He was born March 23, 1939, in Englewood, N.J., to Bernard and Sally McGuiness Sorensen.

He married Donna Fallis on May 7, 1983, in Menlo Park, Calif.

Before moving to Carson City, he lived in Redwood City, Calif.

Mr. Sorensen retired from a career in law enforcement. He was a volunteer for the Carson City Sheriffs Department.

He was a member of the Silver Knights Motorcycle Club and a recipient of the 2002 Senatorial Recognition Senior Nevada Advocates on Guard Program and the 2002 Volunteer Recognition Award.

He served in the U.S. Navy.

Among his survivors are his wife of Carson City; children Debby Embree, Steve and wife Wendy Schaffner of Yuba City, Calif., Ray Sorensen of Rocklin, Calif., Sherry and husband Greg Larck of Modesto, Calif., Mike and wife Stacy Sorensen of Castro Valley, Calif., and Larry and wife Chrissie Sorensen of Rocklin, Calif.; stepdaughters and husbands Debbie Toscanelli and Frank Fratti of Palo Alto, Calif., and Lisa and Mark Bates of Fullerton, Calif.; 12 grandchildren; sister, Caroline Giambattista of New Jersey; and cousin, Stan Sorensen.
