Boyd "Slim" Crawford

Boyd "Slim" Crawford, 80, a Dayton resident for the past 15 years, died March 8, 2005, at Carson-Tahoe Hospital. He was born Oct. 8, 1924, in Virginia, to William S. and Lillie D. Minnick Crawford.

Before moving to Dayton, he lived in Reno since 1945.

He attended high school in Virginia.

Mr. Crawford was a plant worker for the 7-Up Bottling Co. in Reno for 54 years. He was a member of the Dayton Senior Center. He loved to play pool and was an avid fisherman and hunter.

He served in the U.S. Navy during World War II.

He was preceded in death by his wife.

Among his survivors are his companion of 30 years, Helen M. Tarn, and sister, Blanche Delp, of Elk Creek, Va.

Cremation will be at Walton's Sierra Crematory.

Walton's Chapel of the Valley is in charge of arrangements.
