A Reno man could spend the rest of his life in prison for fondling a young girl over the course of a year.
Nathan Lowell Axelson, 32, pleaded guilty March 21 to three counts of lewdness with a minor under the age of 14.
He has been in custody since his arrest Dec. 21, 2004, on a Reno warrant charging him with two counts of sexual assault and three counts of lewdness.
According to police reports, Axelson committed the crimes in both Carson City and Washoe County.
The victim, then 8 years old, told her mother Axelson would fondle her after he made her sit on his lap bare-bottomed.
According to court documents, Axelson confessed to investigators when questioned.
Judge Bill Maddox sentenced Axelson to three terms of 10 years to life. The sentences will run at the same time.
Axelson is eligible for parole in 10 years.
