One person died Sunday in a single-vehicle crash on Highway 88 in the Hope Valley area of Alpine County, authorities said.
Three others were taken to local hospitals for treatment following the crash about 4:50 p.m., according to the Alpine County Sheriff's Office.
The name of the dead person was not released, pending notification of next of kin. The accident was under investigation by the California Highway Patrol.
