Saturday, I enjoyed being down on Third Street at my son's graduation party at Devincenzi's Restaurant. It was a great time with outstanding food and a relaxing atmosphere.
Now add a live band and a theme from rock, country to blues, and you have Fridays @ 3rd Street, sponsored by Mom's and Pop's Diner, Devincenzi's and Downtown Redevelopment.
Each week is a different theme, so come down and enjoy the summer breezes, great music and dancing in the street.

The farmers market is back at the Pony Express Pavilion at Mills Park. I always have in mind what I want to purchase, then once I get there, it goes right out of my mind when I see all the different fruits and vegetables from all the growers.
Have your children select some healthy treats and chat with the farmers, who can give wonderful advice and ideas.
There are many items besides just fresh produce, including some really unique vendors.

If you love dancing, hot rods and poker runs, check out the 21st Run What Cha Brung car show sponsored by the Karson Kruizers. Rumor has it the Jack Andersen finally stepped down as president after 18 years, but I'll believe it when I see it.
On Carson Street, hundreds of cars will gather at the Harley-Davidson store and head down to Gottschalks parking lot with a police escort.
Check out all the cool cars as they parade down main street Friday night. Saturday, head to Fuji Park for music, food, entertainment, a car show a show-and-shine event. Sunday, they have a poker run you can call ahead to join. It's a weekend blast from the past with everything from Elvis Presley to poodle skirts.

Carson-area volunteers are hosting a fund-raising event to benefit the Nevada Mammovan.
The Mammovan is a mobile unit for community outreach targeting women age 40 and over who typically would not go to a mammography center because they are geographically isolated or uninsured.
First lady Dema Guinn is the spokeswoman for the project and the honorary chairwoman of this fund-raiser.
You are invited to attend a barbecue at the home of Jim and Alicia Eidel to help them raise money for the early detection of breast cancer for those living in outlying areas.
