LaVern Eugene Johnson, 74, a six-year resident of Surprise, Ariz., died Dec. 14, 2005, in Carson City. He was born July 8, 1931, in Spokane, Wash., to Helen Tirk and Howard Johnson.
He was married to Shirley Johnson.
Mr. Johnson worked as a railroad conductor. He served in the U. S. Coast Guard.
He was preceded in death by his daughter Cynthia.
Among his survivors are his wife; son Clifford of Las Vegas, daughter Kelli Johnson of Gardnerville, and granddaughter Jennifer Johnson of Las Vegas.
Memorial contributions may be made to the American Heart Association or the American Lung Association.
Private services are pending of Mr. Johnson.
Fitzhenry's Carson Valley is in charge of arrangements.
