Frances Brooks, 70, a Carson City resident for the past 43 years, died Dec. 13, 2005, in Carson City. She was born Sept. 15, 1935, in Silverton, Colo., to Joseph and Mary Anesi Dalpra.
She attended high school in Boulder City and graduated from college with a bachelor's degree.
She married John F. Brooks on Aug. 10, 1963, in Virginia City. He preceded her in death in 1979.
Mrs. Brooks was a high school and middle school teacher in Carson City schools for 33 years. She was a member of the Catholic Church and Delta Kappa Gamma.
Among her survivors are son John R. of Carson City; daughter and son-in-law Kaycean and Jason Buma of Reno; sister Reola Rampone of San Diego and granddaughter Delaney Buma.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Cancer Fund at Washoe Medical Center, Attention JoAnne Gould.
A private family graveside service will be held with burial at Lone Mountain Cemetery.
Walton's Chapel of the Valley is in charge of arrangements.
