Pilot Wayne Lenhares was in good condition Tuesday after being injured when he lost control of a glider while landing at the Minden-Tahoe Airport.
Lenhares, a 59-year-old Carson City resident, complained of back pain following the crash about 10 a.m. Monday
He was flown by medical helicopter to Washoe Medical Center, where he was listed in good condition Tuesday.
Lenhares landed on the runway, then reportedly bounced about 200 feet in the air before he hit the ground.
The plane hit two parked gliders before coming to rest, according to Donn Walker, spokesman for the Federal Aviation Agency.
One of the gliders incurred substantial damage and the other had minor damage, Walker said.
East Fork paramedics, the East Fork Fire Department and Douglas County Sheriff's deputies responded to the incident, which is under investigation by the National Transportation and Safety Board.
The glider is owned by Soar Minden, a business located at the airport, according to airport spokesman Keith Kallman.
