An Austin man was killed Monday when his vehicle collided with another on Highway 50 Alternate at the Churchill County one-mile post marker.
According to the Nevada Highway Patrol, a 1994 Chevrolet pickup driven by John Davidsen, 20, was westbound when it drifted across the center line about 6:20 a.m. and struck an eastbound vehicle driven by Jesus Rojas-Arriaga, of Sparks. The accident happened in a no-passing zone one-half mile east of the border of Churchill and Lyon counties.
Davidsen and Rojas-Arriaga were taken by helicopter to Washoe Medical Center.
Davidsen succumbed to his injuries. Rojas-Arriaga was treated and released.
