A private family service for Arnt Olaf Thorvaldsen Jr., 70, a Reno and Carson City resident for the past 25 years, will be Friday at Northern Nevada Veterans Memorial Cemetery.
Mr. Thorvaldsen died Aug. 23, 2005, in Carson City. He was born June 3, 1935, in New York, to Arnt Olaf Sr. and Dagney Reinhart.
He was a college graduate.
Before moving to this area, he lived in Buffalo, N.Y., and Tempe, Ariz.
Mr. Thorvaldsen worked in electronic journalism as a broadcaster. He was a Christian.
He served in the U.S. Navy.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Among his survivors are children David Olaf Thorvaldsen and Debra Jeannette Johnson, both of Queen Creek, Ariz. and three grandsons.
Cremation will be at FitzHenry's Crematory. FitzHenry's Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
