Reserve a spot for Business and Tech Expo

Reservations are being accepted for the 2005 NNDA Business & Tech Expo from 10 a.m.-6 p.m. Oct. 6 at the Nevada Appeal building, 580 Mallory Way.

The theme is "Grow Your Business - Live the Dream."

The Business and Tech Expo showcases regional businesses and manufacturers and features breakout sessions led by knowledgeable leaders discussing issues important to the business and industrial community.

Businesses are urged to exhibit because the NNDA will aggressively promote the expo throughout Northern Nevada to ensure that the exhibitors and sponsors reach carefully targeted attendees interested in specific products and services.

Booths are available in various sizes and locations, starting at $300 for members. Sponsorships are available starting at $1,000.

Sign up now for statehood parade

Sign ups will be taken for entries to the 2005 Nevada Day Parade until Sept. 16. This year's them is "Nevada Day Presents: The Wild West." The parade starts at 10 a.m. Oct. 29. Show to benefit Peace Campaign group

The Nevada Shakespeare Company will present its original work "A Single Woman" as a benefit for the Department of Peace Campaign. The showing is 7 p.m. Saturday at the United Religious Science Church, 675 Fairview Drive, No. 218. There is a suggested donation of $20. This performance is for mature audiences.

Yoga workshop set for Genoa Town Hall

Enjoy a self-healing Yoga Workshop on The Nine Lines of Movement from 8:45 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Saturday at the Genoa Town Hall.

This healing day is $95 with lunch included.

Douglas GOP slates non-picnic for Aug. 32

The Douglas County Republican Central Committee meets the second Thursday of the month. There will not be a meeting this month. However. a fund-raising non-event picnic will be held Aug. 32.

The next regular meeting is at 7:30 p.m. Sept. 8 in the Law Enforcement Building in Minden. Guest speaker is Assemblywoman Sharron Angle. The Oct. 13 guest speaker is Dawn Gibbons. Both women are 2nd District Congressional seat candidates.

The specific objective of the central committee is to provide leadership for and management of the affairs of the Republican Party in Douglas County. To join, a person must be a registered Republican voter in the county.
