Lois Francis Franke

A memorial service for Lois Francis Franke, 78, a Carson City resident, will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at the Calvary Chapel of Carson Valley, 1004 Dresslerville Road, in Gardnerville.

Mrs. Franke died Aug. 13, 2005, at her home.

She was born June 26, 1927, in Berkeley, Calif., to Robert and Gladys Hamilton.

She married Donald A. Franke on Feb. 6, 1948, in Portland, Ore.

Mrs. Franke was retired from the Contel Telephone Co. in Minden. She was a member of the Order of Eastern Star, White Shrine, Rainbow Girls and Native Daughters of California. After her retirement, she loved to garden, take walks, draw, and spend time with her family. She also volunteered at the Carson City Senior Center.

She was preceded in death by her husband Sept. 8, 2001.

Among her survivors are her children Donald II and wife, Virginia, of Carson City, Linda Franke of Sacramento, Ronald Franke of San Diego, Adrian and wife, Marla, of Minden and Marilyn Pavlik of Carson City; grandchildren Kirk and Tara Franke of Carson City, Kristyn and Josh Santiago of San Diego and Stephanie and Jennifer Pavlik of Carson City; two great-grandchildren; sisters and brothers-in-law Doris and Ken Ray, Barbara and George Treutle and Mary Suhr and Robert Hamilton; sisters-in-law and brother-in-law Audrey Franke, Dixie Ashley and Evelyn and Donald Decker.

Capitol City Cremation & Burial Society is in charge of arrangements.
