Forrest "Bud" Abell, 71, a Gardnerville resident, died Aug. 7, 2005, in Carson City. He was born Sept. 14, 1933, in Louisville, Ky., to Forrest W. Sr. and Elizabeth Taylor Abell.
Before moving to Gardnerville, he lived in Louisville for 69 years.
Mr. Abell retired as a police officer with the Louisville Police Department.
He served in the U.S. Army.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Shirley, on March 27, 1994, in Louisville.
Among his survivors are children Stephanie Divino of Carson City and Dennis Abell, Anthony Abell and Alan Abell, all of Louisville; sister, Lottie Ann Hawkins; four grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
A service and burial will be in Louisville.
