Donna Lee Brooks

A Mass for Donna Lee Brooks, 52, a Carson City resident for the past two years, will be at St. Teresa of Avila Catholic Church at 10 a.m. Friday.

A memorial will be June 9, 2005, in Westwinfield, N.Y., at St. Joseph's Catholic Church.

A gathering of friends and family for a luncheon will be from 11:30 a.m.-1:30 p.m. Friday at Empire Ranch Country Club.

Mrs. Brooks died April 9, 2005, at home.

She was born June 9, 1952, in New York to Edward and Mary Baker Lupinski.

She married Richard Brooks on July 31, 1992 in Reno.

Before moving to Carson City, she lived in Springfield Center, N.Y., coming from the Reno area, where she lived from 1972 to 1993.

She received a master's degree from the University of Nevada, Reno.

Mrs. Brooks was a deputy administrator for aging services for the state of Nevada.

She was a former member of the Rotary Club in Cooperstown, N.Y., and served as treasurer and Paul Harris Fellow Honorary member of the Sunset Rotary Club in Carson City.

She was executive director of the Cooperative Extension of Otsego County from 1998 to 2003 and president of the Ya Ya Yo Yo Sisterhood.

Mrs. Brooks enjoyed golf, many crafts and her summer home on the lake.

She was preceded in death by her parents.

Among her survivors are her husband of Carson City; sister, Lori Degristina of Dayton; brothers and sisters-in-law David and Sue Lupinski and Edward and Janet Lupinski, all of Ilion, N.Y.; nephews; step-grandchildren; and numerous extended-family members.

Capitol City Cremation is in charge of arrangements.
