Robin's Ropers hosted its second annual Easter Egg Hunt for friends, family, Carson City Pack 145, Den 7 of the Carson City Tiger Cubs and Carson City Brownies Troop No. 182 on April 3.

More than 30 children enjoyed the hunt, a pinata, tetherball, volleyball, fling-golf, pony rides, dummy roping, a campfire and s'mores under sunny skies - complete with a rainbow.

Tremendous thanks go out to Kellyn Bricker, Michelle Gibbons, Amber Hoogestraat, Mariah Laursen, Gina Pfaffenberger, Maci Pfaffenberger and their parents for their assistance in preparing for and conducting the hunt activities.

The 4-H youth organizers were prepared, organized, focused, talented and fun - what more can you ask of today's youth?

Robin's Ropers, a Douglas County Western Heritage club, is accepting new members for a horseless program called the "Whippersnappers!"

Youths age 2-18 will meet once a month for two hours. Activities include knot-tying; Western cooking, literature and art; learning to throw a lariat and goat roping.

In August, watch for an open house for Robin's Ropers horse program.

The program begins in October with attendees beginning at the Remuda level and learning to lead their horse, use a round pen and more.

By spring, most Remuda participants will work their way up to the intermediate Buckaroo level and begin work in the saddle.

Roper Reiners learn advanced horsemanship.

Signups are taken during the open house in August.
