Carson City firefighters are battling a blaze just west of Curry Street in South Carson City.

The rapidly moving fire is in the brush on the side of the hill and is producing large amounts of smoke.

The fire started near the rear of Capitol Ford and has moved north toward the Carson Indian Colony.

Curry Street has been closed at Fairview, Koontz.

Businesses in the area have been asked to evacuate.

The Federal Emergency Management Agency was notified of the fire at about 11:40 a.m.
