Gun used in latest motel robbery

Carson City authorities are seeking a couple who took $1,200 at gunpoint from a Carson City Inn motel clerk 11:30 p.m. Sunday.

This is the fourth theft to occur at the motel at 1930 N. Carson St., but an employee said it was the first time someone pulled a weapon.

A masked man and a blonde female entered the motel lobby and demanded money from the clerk, according to Sheriff Kenny Furlong

"This is our fourth robbery," said a motel employee. "At first, the robberies were a week apart, but before, no one was armed. Last night, the robber pulled a gun."

"The robbers walked in, told the clerk to give them the money, and they left," Furlong said. "No one followed, so we don't know if they fled by foot or by car."

He said Sunday's robbery could be linked to a drive-by shooting at the east end of Long Street about 11 p.m. Saturday, but did not reveal more details.
