Joanna Hixon and Whitney Dibble each had nine kills as the Galena volleyball team swept past Spanish Springs 15-4, 15-1, 15-5. Carly Kolesar had six kills and Lauren Wallace had five kills while setting up the attack with 24 assists.
Wallace also had seven blocks while Whitney Dibble and Melissa Reaney each had two blocks and Jenny Burrows added a blocks. Also defensively, Danielle Sindlinger had eight digs, Kolesar had seven digs, Dibble had five digs and Wallace and Hixon each had four digs.
In serving, Chelsea Applebaum served for nine points, Whitney Haller served for nine points and an ace, Sindlinger served for six points, Wallace served for six points and an ace, Kolesar served for five points and an ace, Stacey Schieberl served for four points and an ace for Galena (27-6, 15-2).
The Galena junior varsity and freshmen teams each swept their matches in two games.
