According to the Winnemucca Silver State, the Indians of the Humboldt section report the pine nut crop as being the best for years. The nuts will be ready to harvest about the first of September, and they propose to have a big fandango before harvesting the crop.

Born in this city, July 28, 1901, to the wife of A.G. Meyers, a daughter. Married in Washington, D.C., June 1, Professor Lawrence Page, of Washington, D.C., and Miss Kate Hodgkinson of San Francisco. Miss Ethel Honrick, a former Reno girl who made many friends here will appear with the Frohman Company, Columbia Theater, San Francisco in "Mr. Bane's Defense."

Engagement announced of Miss Genevieve Murry to W.T. Holcomb, office engineer and secretary of the board of highway commissioners. Record breaking run of Eddie Pullen, with his Model A Ford stock car is to be shown this evening at Legion Hall.

Mrs. Clara Beatty of Reno, director of the Nevada Historical Society Museum, was featured speaker at this week's meeting of the Carson (Host) Lions Club.

Carson City justice courtroom packed with friends and well wishers saw Deputy District Attorney William Maddox take the helm of the district attorney's office. David Small had retired to open a private practice.

10 YEARS AGO

Plans to construct a new elementary school on the north end of the city, the Corbett Elementary School, breezed through the Planning Commission.
