INDIAN CREEK RESERVOIR: Dave Kirby of the Woodfords General Store said, "The fishing has been good. Saturday was very windy. On Sunday, a shore fisherman caught a 2.5 pounder on Power Bait, in addition to two other trout. The reservoir will stocked on Tuesday by both the state and the county."

PYRAMID LAKE: The Gilly Sporting Goods Store in Sparks gave this report, "The fly anglers are doing real good. One fly fisherman caught two 10-pounders in one day on a tan colored beetle pattern fly at the south end of the "Nets."


Both the fly fishermen and the spincasters are "slamming" then at the north and the south end of the Nets. They are using various flies, hair jigs and lures.


Boaters have been catching cutthroat in the 18-20 inch class and they have been having 20 fish days."

LAKE TAHOE - North Shore: Mickey Daniels of Mickey's Big Mack Charters reported, "Limits of average sized Mackinaw trout, up to 6 pounds. Fishing in 250-450 feet of water, very early in the morning, in front of the Carnelian Bay-King's Beach area. Trolling with Herring Dodger flasher blades with pearl-colored Apex lures or live minnows."


LAKE TAHOE - SOUTH SHORE: This report from the Sportsmen's Sporting Goods Store at South Lake Tahoe, "Fishing has been good for average sized Mackinaw trout. Last week, Mike Nielsen of the Tahoe Topliners caught a 9-pound German brown while toplining with a Rapala lure in the Cave Rock area. The Nevada Division of Wildlife planted rainbows in the Cave Rock and the Sand Harbor areas last Friday."


TAMARACK-SUNSET LAKES: No report.


TOPAZ LAKE: Linda Fields of the Topaz Marina checked in with this report, "Nothing exciting but the fishing has been steady. It was windy on Saturday. The boaters are using Needlefish and Rapala lures or flasher blades with nightcrawlers to catch rainbow trout in the 1-pound class.


Shore fishing has been very quiet."


UPPER TWIN LAKE-LOWER TWIN LAKE-ROBINSON CREEK: Ice-free.

WALKER LAKE: Bob Tompkins of the Gun and Tackle Store in Hawthorne said, "It was a little slow on Saturday and Sunday. The fishermen have been averaging two fish per day. The trout are either little dinks, up to about 1.5 pounds, or a horse. A California boater caught a 9-pounder on the east side with a Chartreuse/red dot lure. He was trolling by the buoy line."


WALKER RIVERS (EAST-WEST-LITTLE):


East Walker River: Produced lots of nice rainbows, up to 1.25 pounds and some German brown trout, up to 3.75 pounds. The best results were by anglers in chest waders, who were spincasting with Fire-Tiger Krocodile or yellow Roostertail lures. Don Quilici, outdoor editor for the Nevada Appeal, caught and released 17 rainbows with a Krocodile lure. Don Hettrick caught a 3-pound, 7.5-ounce German brown on a yellow Roostertail lure.


West Walker River: No report.


Little Walker River: No report.


WILDHORSE RESERVOIR: Dennis Dunn of the Wildhorse Resort reported, "Fishing is excellent. The fishermen are catching mostly rainbows, a sprinkling of German browns and some big channel cats. They are using a combination of worms and corn.


Shore fishing has been the best.


Anthony Rowelek, age 9, of Spring Creek caught a 10-pound, 6-ounce channel cat, shore fishing up in the inlet of the Owhyee River."
