Three injured when pickups collide at Roop Street

Three people were taken by ambulance from a Saturday evening collision between two small pickups at Roop and Robinson streets.

Investigation of the accident and cleanup of fuel spilled at the scene were continuing at presstime. Identities of the occupants of the pickups were not yet available.

One pickup, a Ford Ranger that appeared to be raised and equipped with oversized tires, was flipped onto its driver's side in the collision, which occurred about 5:15 p.m. The Ford had damage to its passenger side at the bottom of the door. The second pickup, a Toyota, had damage to its grill, hood and front, right fender.

Firefighters sprayed suppressant foam on the street around the tipped truck because of fire danger from spilled gasoline.
