Stabbing victem condition

A Carson City man stabbed in the chest Saturday night has been upgraded from serious to stable condition, according to a Washoe Medical Center staff member.

Jesus Rios was reportedly stabbed after an argument over money with Carson City resident John Sanford Burke.

Burke, 33, was booked into Carson City Jail on suspicion of attempted murder and failing to register as an ex-felon.

Because the weapon was not found after the incident, deputies don't know what kind of instrument it was, said Chief Sheriff's Deputy Bernie Curtis.
