Pregnant Reno woman among victims of EgytAir Flight 909

RENO, Nev. - A pregnant Nevada woman who was on her way back to Egypt to be with family during the birth was among the victims killed in the crash of EgyptAir Flight 909, her employer confirmed Wednesday.

Gehane El-Shoura, 32, worked in JC Penney's lingerie department at Meadowood Mall in Reno. She boarded the plane in Los Angeles.

''We heard about it Sunday but it wasn't confirmed until Monday,'' store manager Bill Miller told The Associated Press.

''She was an employee here for approximately six months. We were her work family,'' he said.

El-Shoura had lived in Reno the past few years with her husband, Mohammad Mansour. A family friend told KOLO-TV that she was seven months pregnant and had decided to return to Egypt to be with family.

Her husband drove her to Los Angeles and watched her get on the plane before driving home to Reno, KOLO-TV said. He is now in Newport, R.I., along with El-Shoura's father, who arrived there Tuesday from Cairo.
