Ormsby House arrests

A Saturday night fight that started during an automobile racing awards ceremony at the Ormsby House resulted in the arrests of two Carson City men.

Police arrested Dawson Anthony Kendall, 27, and Jason Henry Batis, 23, as they were leaving the building following a confrontation in which pepper spray and police force was used to subdue the two men.

According to witnesses, a fight, which started in the upstairs ballroom, was quickly stopped and the participants agreed to leave. The melee started with security officers near the bathroom doors and sheriff's deputies near the south exit.

Kendall is charged with misdemeanor suspicion of interference with a peace officer, battery on a peace officer, resisting a public officer and possession of marijuana. Bail is $2,500.

Batis is charged with interference with a peace officer, battery on a peace officer, resisting a public officer, disorderly conduct and two counts of battery. Bail is $2,500.
