Obituary: Thomas J. Anderson

An Elks funeral service for Thomas J. "Andy" Anderson, 79, a Carson City resident for the past 3 1/2 years, will be 3 p.m. Saturday at FitzHenry's Funeral Home.

Visitation will be noon-5 p.m. Friday at FitzHenry's.

Mr. Anderson died Dec. 29, 1999, at Carson-Tahoe Hospital. He was born Sept. 9, 1920, in Muncie, Ind., to Thomas A. and Reba May Mohler Anderson.

Before moving to Carson City, he lived in Sun Valley, Calif.

Mr. Anderson was a retired service station manager. He was a member of the Carson City Elks Lodge 2177, the Van Nuys FOE 2310 and an Associate Member of FOE Carson Aerie 1006.

He served in the U.S. Army during World War II.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Charlotte.

Among his survivors are his daughters, Julia M. Stacey, of Meridian, Ind., and Jo Ann Vorhees, of Brown County, Ind.; brother, Howard, of Florida; sister, Roberta Sears, of Ohio; five grandchildren; several great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.

Inurnment will be at Forest Lawn Cemetery in Hollywood Hills, Calif.

Cremation will be at FitzHenry's Crematory.

FitzHenry's Funeral Home and Crematory is in charge of arrangements.
