A memorial service for Maile Reid Shannon, 75, a Carson City resident for the past 20 years, will be at 11 a.m. Friday at the First Baptist Church in Minden.
Mrs. Shannon died Oct. 11, 1999, at her residence. She was born June 7, 1924, in Hilo, Hawaii, to James Gabriel and Sarah Lyman Reid.
Before moving to Carson City, she lived in Bishop, Calif.
Mrs. Shannon was a homemaker. She attended the First Baptist Church in Minden.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Donald, Aug. 30, 1999, in Reno, and three brothers.
Among her survivors are her son, Donald Jr., of Point Reyes, Calif.; daughter, Kathleen Huber, of Green River, Wyo.; sister, Hualani Day, of Bakersfield, Calif.; sister-in-law, Ventura Shannon Brown, of Ann Arbor, Mich.; one grandchild and two great-grandchildren.
Inurnment will be at the Northern Nevada Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Fernley at a later date.
Cremation will be at FitzHenry's Crematory.
FitzHenry's Funeral Home and Crematory is in charge of arrangements.
