Obituary: Gregory Biggin

A funeral for Gregory Biggin, 50, a long-time Carson City resident, will be at 2 p.m. Monday at Walton's Chapel of the Valley.

Visitation will be from noon-4 p.m. Sunday at Walton's.

Mr. Biggin died April 26, 2000, at Carson-Tahoe Hospital. He was born March 4, 1950, in in Newton, Mass.

Mr. Biggin was reared in Carson City where he dedicated his life to law enforcement. He started out as a sheriff's cadet at age 19 and retired as a chief deputy sheriff in 1994. He spent several years as a member and supervisor of the Carson City Sheriff's Department Aero Squadron.

He was preceded in death by his mother Doris Hayward and his wife Laurie Ann in December 1984.

Among his survivors are his father Charles of Burlingame, Calif.; sister Gail Weiss of Pennsylvania and brother Ted of Carson City.

Internment will be at Lone Mountain Cemetery.

Walton's Chapel of the Valley, Crematory and Cemetery is in charge of arrangements.
