A memorial service for Doris Laverne Ackerman, 74, a Carson City resident for the past four years, will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at FitzHenry's Funeral Chapel.
Mrs. Ackerman died Jan. 7, 2000, at her residence. She was born Oct. 10, 1925, in Illinois, to Charles and Minnie Depper Sebus.
Before moving to Carson City, she was a lifetime resident of Churchill County.
She attended school in Churchill County.
Mrs. Ackerman was a homemaker.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Glenn, Sept. 23, 1991.
Among her survivors are her daughters, Barbara Taylor, of Reno, Carol Thomas of Carson City and Debra Caraway, of Winchester, Calif.; sister, Alice Candee, of Mesa, Ariz.; brothers, Fred Sebus of Reno and Howard Sebus, of Fallon; seven grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
Cremation will be at FitzHenry's Crematory.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Churchill County Museum.
Reno Memorial Cremation and Burial Society is in charge of arrangements.
