Bert S. Stevens, 79, a Coos Bay, Ore., resident, died Oct. 17, 1999, at his residence. He was born May 3, 1920.
He was a former Carson City resident.
Mr. Stevens had worked for the Department of Prisons as a correctional officer for 20 years and as a Capitol Security Guard.
Prior to his retirement, he was very active in Shrine benefit work.
Among his survivors are his many friends and family members in Nevada and Coos Bay.
He will be buried at sea near Coos Bay.
