Mother admits breaking child's collarbone

A Carson City woman pleaded guilty Tuesday in district court to felony child abuse.

Blythe Norris, 27, could receive up to 20 years for beating her child in September of this year, breaking a collarbone.

A guilty plea, said Judge Michael Fondi, is an admission that Norris caused "unjustifiable bodily harm resulting in substantial bodily injury."

Under the judge's orders, Norris will complete an alcohol treatment program prior to her January sentencing.

Deputies were originally called to Bordewich-Bray elementary school in response to bruising on Norris's two children ages 6 and 4 years old.
