Letter: church services

Regarding the letter written by Jackie A. Ramer of New Hope Baptist Church in the Oct. 28 issue, are her observations correct?

We at St. Gall's Catholic Church have had a ministry in action at Valley Meadows (formerly Cottonwood) since its opening. Services are held every Sunday in the lobby of the center at 9:30 a.m. We also have individuals who visit the sick and infirm on a weekly basis, at the center or in their homes to bring them communion. Father Bill Nadeau celebrates Mass every second Thursday of the month at 1 a.m. at Valley Meadows, with helpers to bring the residents in if they wish to attend.

We also have services at Carson Valley Residential Center every Wednesday at 1:30 p.m. and Mass every third Thursday at 10 a.m.

Summerville Health Care at Virginia Creek has Mass every fourth Thursday at 10 a.m. and scriptural service the other Thursday of the month at 2:45 p.m.

We also have a jail ministry for our local inmates who wish to attend.

I believe St. Gall's Catholic Church in Gardnerville is very much involved in ministry to the sick and infirm and retired of our community.

Has Jackie A. Ramer overlooked other churches as well? She might be surprised!
