On Sunday Dec. 5 the Carson Valley Historical Society held its annual Christmas Open House in conjunction with the third annual Gallery of Trees Festival. The main exhibit hall has 12 decorated trees. The community was invited to vote for its favorite decorated tree and the winners are:
A Wildflower - Best of Show (for the Snowshoe Thompson theme tree).
Greenhouse Garden Center of Carson City - First Place Ribbon (in the professional category).
Sierra Vision - First Place Ribbon (for its nutcracker theme tree) (in the business category).
Genoa Courthouse Museum - First Place Ribbon (in the schools & service category).
National Junior Honor Society at Pau-Wa-Lu Middle School - Second Place.
C.O.D. Garage - Second Place (business category).
The Gallery of Trees will be on display 10 a.m.-5 p.m. through Dec. 27, at the Carson Valley Museum and Cultural Center, 1477 Highway 395, Gardnerville.
