BAC Stage Kids, the children's theater company at the Brewery Arts Center, announces auditions for the musical production of "The Velveteen Rabbit" Sunday Dec. 5 at noon at the Brewery Arts Center, 449 W. King Street.
Based on the classic story of a stuffed toy rabbit made real by a boy's enduring love, this production is a fully staged musical.
It captures all the tenderness and magic of the original story and adds six beautiful songs. You will laugh at the antics of the living rabbits and cry when the Velveteen Rabbit lies discarded in the rubbish heap.
But most of all, everyone will be moved when the little boy announces his Velveteen Rabbit is real, and the Nursery Magic Fairy turns this love into a miracle.
"The Velveteen Rabbit" is scheduled for Feb. 26, 27, March 4 and 5 and rehearsals will be Monday and Wednesdays from 4-5:30 p.m.
This is a show for even the littlest actors to participate in. Children should come prepared to sing a short. Bring a tape cassette or CD music (music only, no vocal tracks). BAC will provide accompaniment. Call the Brewery Arts Center at 883-1976.
