Agenda Dayton Regional Advisory Council

DAYTON - Revised Rolling "A" development plans will be among several land issues brought to residents Wednesday.

Developers are routinely requested to present proposals to local advisory boards before presenting an application to the planning and county commissions.

Rolling "A" project engineers will present an amended plan asking for a special use permit and tentative map to build a planned unit development off of River Road, east of Dayton.

The proposed residential development could result in about 900 homes being built on lots ranging in size from 6,000 square feet to one acre. Among concerns expressed by residents at community meetings is opposition to 6,000 square foot lots, lack of a four-lane access road to the subdivision, effects on traffic using River Road and the ability of Highway 50 in that area to handle increased traffic.

Working to meet resident concerns, Thiel Engineering employees, who represent Rolling "A" owner Christo Bardis, withdrew a request from the September planning commission meeting agenda, stating they wanted additional time to revise their plans.

Other planning items scheduled for discussion include:

- An application by Bob and Melanie Hughes of Video Wall Corporation, for a master plan amendment and change of land allowing commercial development on approximately eight acres that are currently zoned as half acre residential. The property is located on the south side of Highway 50 at Melanie Drive east of Dayton.

- A request from Worth Borda, a trustee, to change the master plan from open space to commercial on about 170 acres and low-density residential on about 375 acres of a 545 acre parcel off of Highway 50 east in the Pinenut View area.

- Two parcel map approval requests by Mike Hughes, including a 35-acre parcel located off River Road and a 20 acre parcel off Minor Road in southeast Dayton.

The Dayton Regional Advisory Council meets at the Community Center, Pike Street, at 7 p.m. Wednesday. For information, call 246-9653.
