Obituary: David "Dave" L. Seal

A memorial for David "Dave" L. Seal, 75, a Sparks and Northern Nevada resident for most of his life, will be at 1 p.m. Saturday at the First Evangelical Free Church of Reno, 3195 Everett Drive. A reception will be after the memorial.

Mr. Seal died Oct. 14, 2000, at his residence. He was born Feb. 4, 1924, in Portland, Ore., to Vivian Pierce.

He was preceded in death by his mother and stepfather, Glen Fulstone, and his brother, Lloyd Seal.

Prior to living in Northern Nevada he resided in Oregon.

Mr. Seal was self-employed, having owned an auto repair shop.

He was co-founder of the Sparks Traffic Survival School; was a Pleasant Valley volunteer firefighter; Sparks Elks Lodge; life member of the Lions Club; member and past president of the Lions Eye Foundation, and received many honors and awards in the Lions Club.

He was a member of the First Evangelical Free Church of Reno.

Mr. Seal was an Army veteran and a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars.

Among survivors are his sons Glenn D. Seal of Sparks and Edward Seal of Fernley; daughters Donna Lynn Fretter of Fernley, Vivian S. Kelly of Oregon and Nancy Seal of Smith Valley; brother Jimmy Fulstone of Smith Valley; sister Glenora Wright of Fruitland, Idaho, numerous step-children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren and nieces and nephews.

Burial will be at the Veterans Administration Cemetery at a later date.

Cremation is under the direction Sierra Crematory.

John Sparks Memorial Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
