Letter: Choice is clear in race for Senate seat

It's that time again when we all play an important role - choosing our future Nevada leaders. Every vote makes a difference. You may think that elected leaders don't have any impact on your life, but they do. They make decisions that affect us all - like whether nuclear waste pollutes our state or women lose their right to reproductive choice.

So I am voting for Ed Bernstein because he will be a solid vote against Yucca Mountain. John Ensign says he is opposed to nuke waste, but is his party? No! They have continued to vote to send the dump to Nevada. And Mr. Ensign hasn't always spoken out against nuclear waste.

My vote for Ed Bernstein also protects a woman's right to reproductive choice. John Ensign is anti-choice and wants the federal government to make that choice for us.

My vote for Ed Bernstein will keep our air and water clean. John Ensign, when he was a congressman, was voted one of "the dirty dozen" by a moderate advocacy group called the League of Conservation Voters.

My vote for Ed Bernstein will get us a "real" patient's bill of rights. John Ensign will help his HMO contributors and pass a pretend bill of rights.

The choice is very clear. Early voting has begun. Vote today so you can be part of our community that cares and makes a difference.
