Humboldt County waters to close

The 2000 trout fishing season will close on Nov. 15 at Blue Lakes, Catnip Reservoir, Knott Creek Reservoir and Onion Valley Reservoir.


All of those waters are located in northern Humboldt County.


- Blue Lakes: The limit is five trout.


Hours are any time of the day or night.


Only boats without motors are permitted.


The area is closed to vehicular traffic.


- Catnip Reservoir: The limit is zero fish (catch and release fishing only).


Hours are any time of the day or night.


Only artificial flies or lures with single barbless hooks may be used.


It will re-open on Sept. 1.


- Knott Creek Reservoir: The limit is one trout, minimum size of 18 inches.


Hours are any time of the day or night.


Only artificial flies or lures with single barbless hooks may be used.


Boats must be operated at a speed that leaves a flat wake and in no case, exceed five nautical miles per hour.


- Onion Valley Reservoir: The limit is five trout.


Hours are any time of the day or night.


Boats must be operated no faster than five nautical miles per hour.


It will re-open the second Saturday in June.
