BLUE LAKES (UPPER AND LOWER): No report.


BOCA RESERVOIR: No report.


BRIDGEPORT RESERVOIR: No report.


CAPLES LAKE: No report.


CARSON RIVERS (EAST AND WEST) IN CALIF.: Dave Kirby of the Woodford's Station reported, "Both the East and West Carson Rivers are extremely low and clear. Our water levels this year are 30 days early as compared to normal years. Best fishing is very early in the morning or in the late evening as the fish are extremely spooky."


CRATER LAKE (Near Kit Carson Pass): No report.


CONVICT LAKE AND CONVICT CREEK: David DeSurra of the Convict Lake Resort reported that 300 pounds of Alper's Trophy Rainbow trout were stocked on July 26, Calif. Fish and Game planted 1,000 rainbows from the Fish Springs Hatchery on July 27 and 10 trophy trout from their Hot Creek Fish Hatchery were planted on July 28.


Convict Lake: The largest trout of the week were a 5 pound Alper's Trout on yellow Power Bait at the inlet, a 5 pound rainbow on rainbow Power Bait at the outlet and a 4.35 pound rainbow on a gold/red Cyclone lure at the inlet.


Convict Creek: The largest trout of the week were a 2.18 pound rainbow on Power Chow and a 1.54 pound rainbow on red salmon eggs.


CROWLEY LAKE: No report.


DAVIS LAKE: No report.


EAGLE LAKE: No report.


Feather River: No report.


FRENCHMAN RESERVOIR: No report.


HEENAN LAKE: Closed until the Friday before Labor Day.


HOBART RESERVOIR: No report.


HOOVER WILDERNESS AREA: West Lake was reporting good fishing for mostly Eastern brook or an occasional German brown from shore with Power Bait or from float tubes or inflatable rafts with assorted flies or small lures.


INDIAN CREEK RESERVOIR: The action picked up a little bit this last weekend with some limits on orange or green Power Bait. A 2-pound, 12-ounce rainbow and a 2-pound, 9-ounce rainbow on green Power Bait on Friday.


JUNE LAKE LOOP (GRANT-GULL-JUNE-SILVER LAKES-RUSH CREEK): John of Ernie's Tackle Store checked in with this weekly report, "Sierra Gold is working best for the bait fishermen and Krocodile lures for the spincasters and trollers. The best lake currently is June Lake. A 6-pound rainbow was taken from Rush Creek on a Thomas Buoyant lure. Parker Lake (a hike-in lake above the June Lake Loop) produced a 7.6 pound German brown on a Krocodile lure."


KIRMAN (CARMEN) LAKE: No report.


LAHONTAN RESERVOIR: No report.

PYRAMID LAKE: Is now closed until Oct. 1.


RED LAKE: Boat fishermen did well over the weekend near the dam. They were picking up limits of mostly rainbows and some cutthroat trout in the 1.5-2 pound range while trolling with silver flasher blades and Rapala lures.


SACRAMENTO RIVER: Kirk Portocarrero of Outdoor Adventures Sport Fishing at Redding says, "King salmon fishing in the Redding area is slow. In the Orovlle area, fishermen are catching some kings in the 15-30 pound class. The river flow is 15,000 C.F.S."


SILVER LAKE: No report.


SOUTH-NORTH-INTAKE 2-BISHOP CREEK (WEST OF BISHOP): Gary Olson of the Bishop Creek Resorts checked in with this report: "The biggest fish of the week were a 5-pound, 8-ounce rainbow from Intake No. 2 on a nightcrawler and a 5.1 pound rainbow from Bishop Creek on a Roostertail lure."


South Lake: No report.


North Lake and Intake No. 2: Fishing has been very good at both locations. Panther-Martin, Trout Trap and Kastmaster lures are doing very well.


Sabrina Lake: Trolling has been great. Rapala lures, olive Woolly Bugger or olive Matuka flies were the best. Lots of action with red salmon eggs.


Bishop Creek: Panther-Martin lures are getting a lot of action. One angler limited out with 2-5.25 pound rainbows, all caught on a Roostertail lure.


STAMPEDE RESERVOIR: No report.


LAKE TAHOE - North Shore: Mickey Daniels of Mickey's Big Mack Charters reported, "We've been catching nice Mackinaw trout on each trip and tagging and releasing the smaller ones. I'm trolling 250-550 feet deep in the area in front of Carnelian Bay and King's Beach. We are using Herring Dodger flasher blades with either live minnows or pearl Apex lures."


LAKE TAHOE - SOUTH SHORE: Jack Martin of the Sportsmen's Sporting Goods Store at South Lake Tahoe checked in and said, "Fishing is great for Kokanee salmon all the way from Elk Point on the Nevada side to the mouth of Emerald Bay on the California side. Lots of limits. They are trolling 40-65 feet deep with Al Wilson flasher blades with an Imperial Magic spoon and a kernel of white corn. The best time is from 5:15 to 9 each morning.


TOPAZ LAKE: Linda Fields of the Topaz Marina gave this report, "The weather is hot and it is very very quiet, fishing wise. Not very many fishermen at this time."


LOWER TWIN LAKE: No report.


UPPER TWIN LAKE: Jim Wilkins reported, "Super Duper, Thomas Buoyant and Spin-a-Lure lures continue to be hot as well as orange, green, yellow and rainbow Power Bait. A nine year old caught a 5-pound, 3-ounce rainbow on a nightcrawler."


VIRGINIA LAKES AND VIRGINIA CREEK:


Virginia Lakes: No report.


Virginia Creek: No report.


WALKER LAKE: Bob Tompkins of the Walker Lake Guide Services said, "Some fishermen are scoring with live minnows in the deep water in front of the Cliffs. The cutthroat have been running 3-5 pounds. The weather is terribly hot."


WALKER RIVERS (EAST-WEST-LITTLE):


East Walker River (Nev.): Bob Tompkins of the Walker Lake Guide Services reported, "The "Elbow" area is good for nice rainbows on Panther-Martin or Roostertail lures or with Power Eggs or nightcrawlers."


East Walker River (Calif.): Was flowing at 275 C.F.S. Best for fly fishermen with Nymphs or Caddis flies for German browns up to 25 inches.


West Walker River (Nev.): No report.


West Walker River (Calif.): Good for everyone, bait fishermen, spincasters and fly fishermen. Lots of average sized trout.


Little Walker River: Good fishing for small rainbows and brookies on worms near Obsidian Campground.


WEBER RESERVOIR: Bob Tompkins of the Walker Lake Guide Services reported, "The reservoir is producing some nice bass and catfish near the inlet. The crappie fishing has slowed way down. The catfish are still biting on anything that stinks."


WILDHORSE RESERVOIR: Dennis Dunn of the Wildhorse Resort said, "The temperatures are in the 92-95 degree range and the fishing is great. The fishermen are banging the heck out of the trout. Last Saturday 3 anglers caught and released a total of 36 rainbows while fishing on the west side from their boat and from shore. Lots of rainbows, a few German browns and even some smallmouth bass are being caught on worms either from shore or on small silver flasher blades with worms while trolling from boats. The largest trout was a 4-pound rainbow."
