First NHL Honor Guard golf tourney set

The first Nevada Highway Patrol Honor Guard Golf Tournament will be held Sep. 7 at Empire Ranch Country Club.


Proceeds from the tournament will go to travel expenses for sending the NHP Honor Guard to services for fallen officers and to the National Police Memorial in Washington, D.C. Funds will also be made available for assisting survivors of fallen officers.


The four-person scramble event will begin at 7:30 a.m. Cost is $90 per person or $360 per team. A hole sponsorship which covers four players and a tee box advertisement costs $550.


Entry fee includes green fees, cart, gift pack, drinks and lunch. A drawing will be held during the lunch. Cost for additional guests for the lunch is $15.


There will be prizes for the first, second and third place teams, the longest drive and closest to the pin. Hole-in-one prizes include a new Jeep courtesy of Reno Jeep Eagle; a new ATV courtesy of Michaels Power Sports and $10,000 courtesy of Lees Brothers Leasing.
