Obituary: Mary E. Askey

Mary E. Askey, 74, a Carson City resident for the past 23 years, died Aug. 4, 2001, at her home. She was born Jan. 5, 1927, in Troy, N.Y. to Emmett and Mary Galligan Bouldin.

Before moving to Carson City, she lived in San Diego, Calif.

She married Charles C. Askey in Toledo, Ohio June 28, 1947.

Mrs. Askey worked as a clerk in the bill mail room during five legislative sessions. She was a member of St. Teresa of Avila Catholic Church where she had been an usher.

Among her survivors are her husband Charles of Carson City; son and daughter-in-law Charles E. and Jane of Salem, Ore. and grandchildren Kristin Elizabeth, Jennifer Lynn and Drew Taylor Askey, all of Salem.

Cremation will be at FitzHenry's Crematory.
